The fourth generation Suzuki Swift is here and it looks more mature than ever
Suzuki has unveiled the all-new fourth generation Swift. This hatchback has now evolved into a sophisticated, smart compact hatchback with a crisp design, advanced safety features, and fun-to-drive playfulness that redefines everyday mobility. Will it also be unveiled in Malaysia?
The new Suzuki Swift has won numerous awards since its introduction as a global model in 2004 and the all-new model builds upon the legacy of its predecessors, offering a driving experience that is not only enjoyable but also prioritises comfort, efficiency, and safety.
Moreover, the Suzuki Swift has been sold in 169 countries and regions with accumulated sales of over 9 million units as of October 2023. The all-new Suzuki Swift will go on sale in the UK in Spring 2024 and further details regarding technical specification and standard equipment will be provided in due course.
The new Suzuki Swift exudes confidence and adventure with a piano-black grille and L-shaped signature lamps that flow into rounded shoulder lines, highlighted by flared fenders. On the side, the muscular contours trace the profile of the car and the floating roof design adds a sense of energetic lightness.
The new Suzuki Swift also offers a spacious and comfortable interior equipped with ergonomic features to elevate the driving experience. It also now features a centre cluster and controls that are angled toward the driver. There is also a wraparound, dual-tone black and light-grey dashboard and front door trim, with satin plating.
On top of that, the Suzuki Swift also sports a 9-inch HD capacitive touchscreen, delivers a quick and accurate response along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through Wi-Fi and USB, voice recognition, Bluetooth music playback, and also displays information about the vehicle’s status.
The new Suzuki Swift also offers an array of safety features such as adaptive cruise control that is activated with lane keeping assist. It also features a camera built into the instrument panel that monitors the driver’s eyes and face. If the system detects that the driver is drowsy, falling asleep, or looking away from the road, it sounds a warning alarm.
The new Suzuki Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine petrol paired with a mild hybrid system for further enhanced environmental performance. The hybrid system converts kinetic energy generated during deceleration, and stores it in the lithium-ion battery.
We all know that while Suzuki was doing pretty well here in Malaysia many years ago but it has not been doing so well for the past decade. So will this new offering be sold here and if so will it help get the brand back on track in the country?
