Neta has already introduced the Neta V here, are other models on the way now?
Hozon Auto’s Neta, the Chinese automaker, has just unveiled two new models in the UAE at the Formula 1 Grand Prix. They brought the Neta S electric sedan and the Neta GT coupe to the racetrack at Yas Bay. According to Neta, this event opened a new chapter of the brand in the Middle Eastern market.
Neta is a mainstream NEV brand launched in 2018 by Hozon Auto and its model line comprises four vehicles, namely the Neta Aya, Neta X, Neta S and Neta GT. With the brand already introducing the Neta V here in Malaysia, could it be preparing to debut more models in the country soon?
Moreover, Neta is rather famous for its overseas expansion and is currently selling two models outside of China, the Neta V and Neta U. It is finishing its plant in Thailand to make right-hand drive versions of its cars and in October, Neta announced its entry to the Middle Eastern countries.
This month, Neta disclosed it will sell vehicles in the Latin American market, starting with Costa Rika. What’s more, this company intends to launch in Europe, signing a memorandum of understanding with BNP Paribas. Next year, the brand hopes to sell over 100,000 units in over 50 countries and aims to sell 1 million vehicles annually by 2026.
On top of that, the Formula 1 Grand Prix took place in Abu Dhabi recently and Neta displayed two models, the Neta S sedan and the Neta GT coupe. On 29 October 2023, Neta started shipping its vehicles to Turkey, announcing its effort to expand into the UAE market. It signed a strategic cooperation agreement with United Arab Emirates’ EIH Automotive & Trading to accelerate its entry there.
A month after its announcement, Neta brought two models to the UAE to display them around the racetrack at Yas Bay. According to the brand’s representatives, the presence of these vehicles here marks a new chapter in the Middle East. Interestingly, both the Neta S and Neta GT are both sold in China only. It seems that the UAE can become the first overseas market for Neta S and Neta GT and maybe more markets soon after.
It wasn’t revealed which car would enter the overseas market earlier, but it seems that the Neta GT will be exported before the Neta S. Hopefully Malaysia and more ASEAN markets will also be on the list to receive these cars soon.
