Meanwhile, Australia has hit a historical high in electric vehicle sales with 2023 electric car sales already passed the 50,000 mark for the first time.
The latest vehicle sales data from FCAI reveals that 49,948 pure battery electric vehicles made it onto Australian roads in the first seven months of 2023 to the end of July.
At the moment is estimated that there are about 83,000 electrified cars currently in circulation, which is almost double of last year’s total number and this comprises of 79 percent full battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) and 21 percent plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).
