Visionary artists turn the McLaren Artura into their canvas
British supercar maker, McLaren invited us to an exclusive event to showcase the brand’s future moving forward and it was epic. Aptly named “Roaring into the Future,” the brand sought the artistic prowess of not one, but two visionary artists to turn the Artura supercar into their canvas.
In an electrifying collaboration with McLaren, local artist Jaee Tee and Japanese born artist Mitsuhiro Higuchi, who resides in Poland, breathe exhilarating new life into the McLaren Artura, drawing inspiration from the awe-inspiring Tiger of the Chinese Zodiac. Witnessing it first hand, I have to say, they went above and beyond.
Moreover, this unique project not only pays homage to the shared values of courage and bravery between the Tiger and the McLaren brand but also commemorates the British brand’s historic 1974 F1 Championship victory, aligning with the Year of the Tiger. As someone also born in the year of the Tiger, this makes me feel extra content.
Just like the tiger in the jungle, McLaren fearlessly paves its way through motorsports, representing innovation, performance, and relentless pursuit of excellence and also prepared five tiger sculptures for us to adore, each one representing the five elements, earth, water, fire, wood and metal.
On top of that, what sets this remarkable collaboration apart is its groundbreaking fusion of creativity and technology, seamlessly integrating Augmented Reality (AR) elements to capture the futuristic essence of the McLaren Artura, essentially bringing the car and the art to life.
This innovative approach captures the very core of the Artura design philosophy. Poised to lead the brand roaring into a thrilling new tomorrow. Now we all know many cultures depict tigers as relentless, powerful and majestic and the artwork present today captured this sentiment perfectly.
What’s more, witnessing the mesmerising collaboration between Malaysian artist, Jaee Tee and Japanese artist, Mitsuhiro Higuchi as they breathe new life into their artistic visions using the McLaren Artura as their canvas took the familiar supercar and it became something else entirely.
To be honest, words cannot do the artistic beauty and powerful presence of the future McLaren promises with its “Roaring Into The Future” event so just soak in the masterpiece that both these talented artists have made for us because nothing anyone can say will ever compare to what I saw today.
