Porsche 911 S/T Marks The Iconic Sports Car’s 60th Anniversary

The Porsche 911 S/T was made just for this special occasion.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911, arguably the most recognizable and respected sports cars in history.

To mark this event, Porsche have crafted a unique new model variant called the 911 S/T.

Porsche 911 S/T Heritage & Design

The Porsche 911 S/T combines the strengths of the road-going character of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the high performance heart of the 911 GT3 RS. As for the name, Porsche looked back to 1969 when Porsche made a special race version of the 911 S, known internally as the 911 ST.

On the Porsche 911 S/T, an optional Heritage Design Package is offered. It draws inspiration from the racing version of the 911 S from the late 1960s and early 1970s. There’s a new Shoreblue Metallic exterior colour and a new Ceramica wheel colour exclusive to this model. Numbering between 0-99 and decorative foil can be applied on the doors upon request. Classic design Gold Porsche crests and Gold model badging will be used on this model.

Other highlights include cloth seat centres in Classic Cognac with black pinstripes, two-tone semi-aniline leather trim in black/classic cognac leather, and roof lining in perforated Dinamica. The instrument cluster and the clock of the Sport Chrono package are finished in a classic green Porsche colour scheme.

Enhanced Performance

This new 911 S/T is built on the body of the 911 GT3 with Touring Package and the 4.0L boxer engine from the 911 GT3 RS with special lightweight components sprinkled in. The front bonnet, roof, front wings, doors, inlets, roll cage, rear axle anti-roll bar and shear panel are all made of lightweight carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP).

The wheels are made of magnesium, the battery is a smaller lithium-ion unit, plus Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes (PCCB) and lightweight glass are installed as standard. Even the insulation material has been reduced. The 911 S/T is the only 911 in this generation to feature double wishbone front and multi-link rear axle suspension WITHOUT rear-axle steering. The result is the lightest model in the 992 generation at just 1,380kg. The 525PS motor has been mated to a short-ratio manual transmission and a lightened clutch and single-mass flywheel, lending it a 0-100km/h time of just 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h.

Aerodynamics of the 911 S/T are tuned for public roads. A Gurney flapis standard on the extending rear spoiler. You also get 20″ front and 21″ rear rims wrapped in staggered ultra high-performance tyres. CFRP bucket seats are standard with four-way adjustable Sports Seat Plus available for free.

Exclusive Chronograph

No 911 special is complete without a Porsche Design Chronograph. With this model, the Chronograph 1 – you get a timepiece with a titanium case, uncoated and blasted for ‘weight saving’ reasons. The Porsche Design WERK 01.240 engine is at the heart of this timepiece. It is operated with a rotor in the design of the magnesium wheels found on the 911 S/T.
