Next-Gen Maserati GranCabrio Spied Without Camouflage And Trofeo Badge

Will we get the Maserati GranCabrio here in Malaysia too after its launch?

Maserati as a brand is one that everyone aspires to. The brand knows this and has purposefully created a lineup of highly desirable and beautiful vehicles but one particular model is not yet a common sight here in Malaysia and that is the GranCabrio Trofeo. Well, it has been spotted now, will it come here next?

GranCabrio

The Maserati GranCabrio will debut during Monterey Car Week that runs from 11 to 20 August 2023 and a new batch of spy photos provides a look at the upcoming convertible without a bit of camouflage and it also sports a Trofeo badge on its front fender as well.

Moreover, this Maserati GranCabrio has a dark silver body with black wheels and matching exterior trim. The exhaust pipes appear to have polished tips. The seats seem to be charcoal gray. The “Trofeo” badge is, as mentioned, above the front fender vents in the classic Maserati font.

The styling of the Maserati GranCabrio primarily comes from the new GranTurismo. In fact, They seem to be identical ahead of the A-pillar. The folding soft top forces styling differences for the rear deck to create enough space for fitting the roof. This is likely to take up some storage space.

The Maserati GranCabrio is expected to launch with a version of the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno engine similar to the GranTurismo. The V6 in the GranTurismo offers 489hp and 599Nm of torque in the Modena grade or 550hp and 649Nm in the Trofeo trim.

On top of that, both the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio will feature the Folgore fully electric variants as well. Both these electric Maserati models will likely use three motors, making a total of 750hp and 1,349Nm of torque. The brand estimates the coupe will hit 100km/h in just 2.7 seconds.

Previously, Maserati had already confirmed that the GranCabrio Folgore would debut in 2023 and it won’t be the only new Maserati debuting during Monterey Car Week as the MCXtrema, the track-only variant of the MC20, will also debut there. Maserati is only making 62 of them and pricing is not yet available.

The Maserati GranTurismo starts at USD174,000 (RM796,398) for the Modena trim in the United States. The more powerful Trofeo grade costs USD205,000 (RM938,285). While there is no official pricing yet, it is clear that the drop top GranCabrio will cost even more than that.

So will Maserati bring the GranCabrio to Malaysia after it launches? I hope so, I would love to see more coupes and cabriolets on the roads. What do you guys think about the Maserati GranCabrio? Do you like the way it looks?
