This Porsche Cayenne is an example of why wrapping should be done by the pros
Okay, where to begin. Honestly, there is no good place to start here but nonetheless, we at DSF do not believe in taking the easy way out so here goes nothing. Today, we just wanted to put out this reminder that certain tasks related to your car, such as wrapping it, should always be left to the professionals. Always. Here is why.
The Porsche Cayenne SUV you see in the main image. That is why. Honestly, I could just end this article here. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, right? However, that would just be lazy writing so instead let me just remind our readers that no matter how skilled you are, sometimes, professional help is needed.
Moreover, if you own an older vehicle, one of the cheapest ways to spruce up its appearance is to have it wrapped obviously by a professional as trying to do it yourself could lead to .. less than savoury results. Need an example? Exhibit A, the DIY “wrapping” of the first generation Porsche Cayenne in the pictures.
The… head turning SUV was spotted by Reddit user @pcbwes while being parked near a gas station in Florida. Predictably, it went viral on the r/Shitty_Car_Mods sub Reddit with the apt description “Let a friend do the wrap on my Porsche.”The user later admitted it is not his vehicle and well, good for him, honestly.
On top of that, the wrapping of this Porsche Cayenne SUV was so bad, some even speculated it could have been wrapped so poorly as it was probably applied during a storm. Now, without trying to be mean, and the operative word here is “trying,” how did the owner of this SUV not realize this botched wrapping before “finishing” it?
Alternatively, as noted by a Reddit commenter, one possible explanation for the wrapping of the Porsche Cayenne SUV being so poorly applied could because the wrap material failed after being exposed to the sun or after reacting with some kind of chemical in the car wash. Either way, it never should have gotten this bad.
Whatever the reason may be, I think we can all agree that all of this could have been avoided if only the owner of the SUV simply trusted the task to professionals. So if you take anything at all away from this, we hope it is that certain tasks require a professional tough so just leave it to the pros.
We got all this from Carscoops and their full article is linked here. Thank you Carscoops for the information and images.
