Could The Fiat 600e Bring Fiat Back As An EV Brand To Malaysia?

First it was Chery, now could Fiat be making a comeback in Malaysia next?

Does anyone remember the Italian brand Fiat? I sure do. While I may not be old enough to have witnessed a time when there were multiple Fiat models being driven on Malaysian roads, a family member owned one while I was a little boy and so I was sort of exposed to the brand. Naturally I was sad to see it go but could this new FIat model bring the brand back to Malaysia?

Fiat

I am referring to the Fiat 600e, a quirky looking electric vehicle (EV) which serves as a great addition to the Fiat lineup and marks its return to the B-segment. The best part is it does so by taking everything you love about the B-segment and upgrading it in every way. Increased space, range and Dolce Vita feel all make the New Fiat 600e the best of the B-segment.

Moreover, the Fiat 600e is not only cool and beautiful, it is also practical, measuring 4.17 metres length meaning it can comfortably seat 5, while also providing best in class front storage. It also boasts an incredible WLTP electric range of more than 400km and more than 600km in the city all while also offering state-of-the-art safety features.

Available as a 5-doors, the New Fiat 600e offers an impressive space habitability with its 5 seats and 15 litres of interior storage. The trunk also boasts a generous 360 litres of load capacity and to optimise charging time, the car is equipped with a 100-kW fast charger system to charge the battery up to 80 percent in less than half an hour.

The New Fiat 600e is also packed with state-of-the-art safety and assistance features and even offers level 2 assisted driving, bringing benefits like Adaptive Cruise Control, Intelligent Speed Assist which reads the speed limits and recommends applying them, as well as Blind Spot Detection using ultrasonic sensors and much more.

Fiat

In terms of comfort and connectivity, the New Fiat 600e is packed with several features that will make every trip a lot more pleasant and joyful like a hands free power liftgate, all powered windows, auto air conditioning, a 10.25-inch fully customizable radio with Navi, CarPlay and Android Auto wireless, a 7-inch digital cluster and connected services to round everything off.

The Fiat 600e has been confirmed for the Italian market by September 2023 and I hope it also goes on sale in Malaysia soon after rebranding Fiat in the country as an EV option for those seeking an “electric Myvi” or just compact yet practical (and hopefully also affordable) EVs.

What do you guys think of the Fiat 600e? Do you think it will find success here in Malaysia?
