Well known worldwide, Barbie comes to life on the big screen
If you have been collecting Barbie dolls and merchandise over the decades you will know that Barbie is known for her hot pink Dream Cars, which have often been pink convertibles.
Now for the Warner Brothers, Barbie movie it seems that at first glance it looks like Barbie will be driving a 1956 or 1957 Chevrolet Corvette in this popular new movie.
Interestingly, if you look closer, it seems that the Corvette is the movie is a restomod with an electric powertrain.
The Corvette is currently in its eighth generation and for the first time in its 67-year history, it finally has the setup that makes it competitive with the likes of the European supercars.
See, for the first seven generations, the Corvette stuck with a very traditional, front-engine layout, meaning its engine was located in front of the driver.
Nineteen fifty-seven was a pivotal year for the Chevrolet Corvette. It was the first year for a four-speed transmission, while its Small Block V-8 grew to 283 cubic inches (4.6L) and offered mechanical fuel injection.
Those “fuelie” models established a new performance benchmark by delivering one horsepower for each cubic inch of displacement.
It was also the first year Chevrolet offered options dedicated to enhancing the Corvette’s track capability.
They included option 579E, known as the “airbox” package, and option 684, which was a heavy-duty suspension package commonly known as the “big brake” package.

The Chevrolet Corvette C3 which was produced from 1968 to 1982, represented the third generation of the iconic American sports car. While the engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the previous generation, the C3 featured a new body and interior design.
