Do you like your Mazda 2 looking more aggressive or more utilitarian?
Okay, so if you are a fan of Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) or just Japanese cars in general, then you probably know about the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur 2023 which will be happening from today (9 June 2023) until Sunday (11 June 2023) at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
Malaysia has a huge JDM scene and this is no surprise given our country’s automotive history and how Japan ties into that. This means that there is no shortage of Japanese cars on the road and this can lead to them all becoming stale but if you own a Mazda 2 or Mazda 3 hatchback, here are two ways you can spruce up your car.
Moreover the images show two Mazda 2 hatchbacks in two very opposing overall aesthetics, one sports a more aggressive and mainstream sporty look, with wide flared out fenders complete with large exhaust pipes and a rear diffuser while the other is more subtle with a small front splitter and a roof rack for a more utilitarian look.
Both look good, but which would you prefer? Personally, I prefer the more understated look of the more utilitarian pink coloured Mazda but I personally think that the colour kind of goes against the whole understated aesthetic, given that pink is not a very common colour for cars but at least it is not bright neon pink, I suppose.
On top of that, while I prefer the more conventional colour of the sportier Mazda, I feel like the lowered stance, massive rear diffuser and gigantic exhaust pipes all just seem a little excessive to me. Yes, I know there are far more gaudy cars even from factory out there, but I personally have always just preferred a more understated look.
Well, either way, these are two very distinct yet very cool ways you can make your Mazda hatchback. Which do you prefer and will you include some or all of these extra add-ons to your car?
