Toyota Accelerating Post-Purchase Efforts To Enhance Car Value

This car evolution effort includes the Toyota Prius U in Japan

The service is also available for the Prius U Grade.

Moreover, Toyota has been offering its services for retrofitting new equipment that was not installed at the time of purchase through Kinto Factory and this new upgrade service will allow for retrofitting of safety and security devices and functions previously unavailable.

This includes the Advanced Park feature of the Toyota Teammate advanced driving support technologies, to cars equipped with Upgrade Ready Design. Upgrade Ready Design also allows future devices and functions to be retrofitted by anticipating the work required for upgrades and designing systems in advance in Toyota vehicles.

Toyota will continue its transformation into a mobility company by expanding upgrade options and models to evolve cars so that customers can continue driving their cars for longer. The Advanced Park feature (with remote function) of the Toyota Teammate advanced driver assistance technologies is also available.

On top of that, seven other systems such as a Blind Spot Monitor, Panoramic View Monitor, Parking Support Brake (rear pedestrian detection), and Steering Wheel Heater can now also be retrofitted individually as upgrade options on Toyota vehicles even if they were not selected when the Kinto Unlimited contract was signed.

Toyota will also continue to consider expanding the upgrade list to include things like a large-screen display audio, heated seats, seat ventilation, and synthetic leather seats to meet customer needs and enhance the value of cars as well as post-purchase car evolution for all its customers.

Applications for the upgrade service will be accepted through the dedicated Kinto Unlimited smartphone app and rates are standardized nationwide. There are also two payment options, namely a lump-sum payment or an addition to the monthly subscription fee of one’s Toyota and obviously, at this time, it is only available in Japan and for the Prius U grade model.
