The Lexus TX Has Been Fully Revealed – 3 Rows Of Seats, PHEV Option

Lexus TX has been revealed as a North American successor to the 3-row Lexus RX L.

The current generation Lexus RX was engineered without a three-row version. Some Malaysians may still remember a period when Lexus Malaysia actually brought in this variant called the RX 350 L. Well, now its spiritual successor is here and it’s called the Lexus TX, but it’s made specifically for the North American market only as it’s made in Indiana.

The TX was one of three new models teased by Lexus last month. The other two, the LBX and GX, have also been revealed. The all-new Lexus TX has been tuned for a smooth and exhilarating drive thanks to use of the GA-K platform and the implementation of the Lexus Driving Signature. Specifically for the Lexus TX, joint strength and rigidity through the main framework of the chassis has been enhanced, as has the steering system and rear section. The TX has multi-link suspension and widened tracks for a comfortable ride.

In terms of powertrain options, there will be a mix of petrol, hybrid and plug-in hybrid options for each grade with AWD and DIRECT4 AWD available. Dynamic Rear Steering will also be available on some grades.

Lexus TX seating layout

There will be two seating configurations, either a 7-seater with a 60:40 split-folding bench in the middle row or a 6-seater with two captain’s chairs.

The driver-focused cockpit comes with a 12.3″ multi-info display, a 14″ infotainment unit, multi-coloured illumination accents, a heads-up display, a digital key and an optional 21-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system.

The Lexus TX comes with 20″ wheels as standard, but this can be upgraded to 22″ wheels with unique options on the F Sport Performance grades. The TX comes in seven colour options – Cloudburst Gray, Wind Chill Pearl, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Nightfall Mica, Incognito, and Celestial Silver Metallic.
