Will Neta end up exporting more than GWM and Chery soon?
Chinese automaker, Neta, recently entered the Malaysian market and has introduced two models so far including the Neta V which is currently the cheapest electric vehicle (EV) sold in the country. Now, the brand has recently exported 4,000 vehicles overseas from China. Will it soon become a top exporter? Let’s explore.
With Neta previously only exporting 3,600 Neta V vehicles to Thailand in March, this new record is great news for such a short time and this success is reflected by the fact that Neta will appear at the Munich Motor Show in the second half of this year and the Neta GT launching overseas in the not so distant future.
Moreover, Neta has already established itself in many Asian markets like Thailand and is establishing itself in Malaysia following the brand’s “landing in ASEAN [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] and penetrating into the European Union” expansion strategy which launched in 2022.
With that being said, while brands like Chery and GWM are the top vehicle exporters in China at the moment and have much better numbers than 4,000, with Neta going aggressive in terms of expansion and rapid success, I personally think that given a couple years, the brand could potentially become China’s top exporter.
On top of that, after more than a year, Neta has established a European business department and a Thai factory which is expected to be up and running by January 2024. The factory is projected to have an annual production capacity of 20,000 units and the Neta V ranked second in EV registrations in Thailand, from January to April.
In the near future, Neta also has plans to expand to more countries around the world, such as the Middle East and the European Union. Currently, Neta is already actively launching in the European market, starting with products including the Neta GT are preparing to enter Europe as well.
What’s more on 30 May 2023, Neta saw its 300,000th mass-produced vehicle rolling off the production line. This is impressive considering in January 2022, Neta hit its first milestone of its 100,000th mass-produced car rolling off the production line. Essentially, It took Neta only 16 months to go from 100,000 to 300,000.
Only three new Chinese EV brands including NIO, Li Auto, and Neta have successfully achieved 300,000 mass-produced cars off the assembly line so far and in May, Neta delivered 13,029 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent with 2,042 of them being sold overseas and 1,716 units of Neta GT being delivered.
Well, there you have it, Neta is growing very quickly and I personally think that, very soon, the brand will be able to surpass most, if not all other Chinese brands in exports and become number one. Do you agree?
