The Mercedes-Benz A-Class family has been refreshed for the Malaysian market. Here’s what to expect.
Earlier today, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched the facelifted A-Class family, with just about the entire range represented including the sedans in A200, A250 4MATIC and AMG A35 4MATIC as well as the 5-door performance hatch, the A45 S 4MATIC+. All facelifted models come with design tweaks including a redesigned radiator grille, flat headlamps, power bulges on the hood, a new rear diffuser. Standard equipment includes LED taillights, LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, dual freestanding 10.25″ displays, the latest MBUX (NTG7) operating system, new digital interfaces, a revised telematics system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an additional USB-C port, fast-charging on all USB ports, Parking Package with reverse camera, Active Parking Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Exit Warning Assist, Active Brake Assist, and Keyless-Go comfort package. In addition, the interior uses a high proportion of recycled materials to cut down on CO2 emissions per passenger car.
Mercedes-Benz A200 Progressive Line (Sedan)
Starting at the entry level, you have the A200 Progressive Line sedan which comes with the 1.3L 4-cylinder turbo engine being the only front wheel driven A-Class model this time around. It features the same 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as before.
The Progressive Line kit comes with a new radiator grille design and 17″ 5 twin-spoke light-alloy wheels in black with high-sheen finish. This entry model comes with new three-dimensionally embossed Artico upholstery and dark carbon-fibre look trim elements.

Mercedes-Benz A250 4MATIC AMG Line (Sedan)
One rung up is the A250 4MATIC AMG Line model which gets two major powertrain upgrades. First, the 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo (224hp, 350Nm of torque) here is now mated to an electric motor (10kW, 150Nm of torque) making it a mild hybrid powertrain. The second change is the inclusion of the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic is also featured here. This model gets an additional Sports Brake System, which delivers powerful deceleration even with frequent heavy braking.
The AMG Line kit includes the new three-pointed star pattern grille, 18″ AMG 5 twin spoke light-alloy wheels in tremolite grey with high-sheen finish. Inside, there’s light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim and red contrast topstitching on the Artico / Microcut seats and upholstery.
Pricing has is estimated to be around RM264,000.
