Mercedes-AMG EQS & Mercedes-AMG EQE Models Launched In Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launches the EQS 53 4MATIC+ and EQE 53 4MATIC+ electric performance cars.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia have launched two new electric performance models this morning in Kuala Lumpur – the AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ and AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+. Both vehicles are fully-imported from Germany and benefit from the ongoing excise duty exemption on battery electric vehicles. Pricing for the EQS 53 4MATIC+ starts at RM798,888 (including 10% sales tax) while the EQE 53 4MATIC+ starts at RM649,888 (including 10% sales tax).

Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4MATIC+ Specifications

The EQS 53 4MATIC+ comes with a dual motor all-wheel drive set up. Total power output is 658hp (boosted temporarily to 761hp with RACE START) and 950Nm of torque.

This enables a 0-100km/h acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds at peak. Range is estimated at 571km on a full charge of its 108.4kWh 400 volt battery, which has a lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese chemical composition.

The energy density on these new batteries are higher than ever. This AMG model features AMG-specific wiring and specific battery management systems. Fast charging up to 200kW is available, adding 300km of range in just 19 minutes.

Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+ Specifications

The EQE 53 is impressive too but a little cut down in places. The twin motors here have a maximum output of 625hp that can be boosted temporarily to 687hp with RACE START.

It has the same max 950Nm of torque as the EQS 53. 0-100km/h takes just 3.3 seconds.

Both cars have a top speed of 220km/h. The battery on this model is cut down to 90.56kW and this gives it a maximum range of 527km. DC Fast Charging from 10% to 80% takes just 32 minutes over 200kW.
