Ferrari has also unveiled a SF90 XX Spider for drop top enthusiasts
The Ferrari XX badge, that was made famous for the Ferrari FXX in 2005 is making its way back into the brand’s lineup with two new hardcore road legal racecar models in the form of the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and Ferrari SF90 XX Spider so customers can enjoy this car as a coupe or a drop top.
Both models are based on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, and are to be built in just 799 and 599 units respectively. Both these new V8 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) are the latest and most extreme example of a concept of special versions, which pushes the performance of these Ferrari models to new levels.
Moreover, the 4.0-litre V8 hybrid powertrain in the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and Spider make 30hp more than the original model bringing the total output to 1,016hp and is 0.2 seconds faster than the original SF90 to 100km/h from standstill at 2.3 seconds and both models have a top of 320km/h.
While the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale reaches 200km/h two tenths of a seconds faster than the Ferrari SF90 XX Spider which is 100kg heavier as a result of its roof folding mechanism and the latter model goes from 0 to 200km/h in 6.7 seconds. However, both models share the same 7.9 kWh battery and 25km EV range as the original SF90.
In terms of looks both the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale and Ferrari SF90 XX Spider don’t look too different from the original SF90 but they do have more aggressive styling and air intakes where the original does not have any and a massive rear wing adding more downforce.
On top of that, the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale has managed to shed 10kg of weight compared to the stock SF90 in its lightest Assetto Fiorano specification. Naturally, the drop top version is heavier but this is still impressive especially with all the new and sporty look of the car.
So all 799 models of the Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale are priced at USD842,000 (approximately RM3,940,139) and the 599 Ferrari SF90 XX Spiders models will set one back USD929,000 (about RM4,347,256), but to absolutely nobody’s surprise, all of them have already been snapped up so if you are one of the lucky ones who already booked the car, congrats, I am officially jealous.
So do you guys think we will see any Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale or Ferrari SF90 XX Spider models on Malaysian roads? I sure hope so.
