The Honda Elevate will be unveiled in India first before we get it.
Surprising news just came in from India about a brand new Honda SUV. It seems that there is a new nameplate to join the Honda SUV range. We have the popular CR-V, HR-V and soon the BR-V.
Now comes new of the Honda Elevate SUV. Why not a name like DR-V or ER-V for example. Or is it the HR-V rebadged for the Indian market.
We ask this because the Indian based motoring websites are saying that the ‘Elevate’ competes with the Hyundai Creta which was just launched in Malaysia for a lofty RM149,888 and the Kia Seltos which arrived at RM115,888.
Well, the Honda WR-V is expected to arrive in Malaysia in July this year and our guesstimate selling price is about RM118k or so s it will compete head on with the popular Proton X50.
Yes, the X50 has a lower selling price (RM79k to RM103k) and this simply because it carries the PROTON badge which accords it national car status.
Meanwhile, we have information that the Honda Elevate will share the Honda City platform which gives it a rough length of about 4.3 meters and will be powered by the same engine range as in the Honda City.
Cabin features should mirror the City and HR-V which means it will have the following variety of features, including a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, push-button start/stop, cruise control, and other features are likely to be included.
We can anticipate the Elevate SUV to come equipped with the Honda Sensing ADAS suite, up to 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, all-four disc brakes, ESP, and the rest of the common Honda range of safety features.
So, is this a renamed WR-V or a brand new model to be added to Honda’s range of SUVs? Lets wait for the unveiling next week in India and meanwhile this below might be what it looks like as shared by a couple of websites from India.
