UMW Toyota Motor Ends Q1 of 2023 with Record Sales, Unveils All-New Toyota Vios and Supports Environmental Sustainability
UMW Toyota Motor has recorded impressive sales in the first quarter of 2023, with 9,026 units for Toyota and 110 units for Lexus in March 2023. Total sales for the month of March 2023 stood at 9,136 units (Toyota + Lexus), compared to 9,297 units (Toyota + Lexus) recorded in February 2023.
The total year-to-date sales registered for March 2023 stood at 25,219 units compared to 22,447 units for year-to-date sales registered in March 2022, representing a positive increase of 12% from the previous year. These outstanding results demonstrate the company’s commitment to providing customers with reliable, efficient, and affordable cars that meet their needs.
One of the highlights of March 2023 was the launch of the All-New Toyota Vios, a popular subcompact sedan that has been a bestseller in the Malaysian non-national car market since its introduction in 2003. The new model boasts improved performance, quicker acceleration, and new technology, making it an even more compelling choice for customers looking for an exceptional driving experience.
Datuk Ravindran K., President of UMW Toyota Motor, said, “The All-New Toyota Vios represents our commitment to providing our customers with the best vehicles and ownership experience. The All-New Toyota Vios is definitely a model that we are proud to put on the road, and we hope many Malaysians will be able to enjoy driving the Vios.”
In addition to the successful sales results and the launch of the All-New Toyota Vios, UMW Toyota Motor hosted a tree planting event, UMW Green Shoots Initiative, in conjunction with the Malaysian Nature Society at Tanjung Tuan, Melaka, supporting the National 100 Million Trees Planting Campaign and the three objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG). This initiative is also aligned with Toyota Motor Corporation’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
The tree planting event saw the planting of mangrove saplings to assist in the rehabilitation of the mangrove swamp ecosystem in Tanjung Tuan, which was destroyed due to an oil spill in 2020, contributing to offset CO2 emissions in Malaysia. Up to 6,100 trees were planted by 250 volunteers comprising staff volunteers, students, and teachers from University Putra Malaysia, Serdang, and Politeknik Port Dickson, Taylor’s University, and members of the public.
Finally, in conjunction with the Ramadan season, UMW Toyota Motors has announced a promotion on selected models worth up to RM 8,000, 100% loan financing, and a Toyota Service Savers promotion with monthly instalments from as low as RM22. Toyota owners can also expect a seamless car ownership journey with the Extra Mile after-sale services that promise Malaysians an exceptional car ownership experience.
