The Triumph Thruxton RS is the ultimate evolution of the already successful Thruxton range.
Interestingly, this Thruxton RS has all the hallmarks, features and quality of Triumph’s celebrated Thruxton R, together with even more intuitive agile handling, more contemporary style and unique high-quality detailing.
The original Thruxton played a major part in the birth of motorcycle motorsport, as far back as the late 1950’s when the racing Bonneville first took victory at the legendary Thruxton 500 race series, from which it took its name, courtesy of British racing legend, Mike Hailwood.
And from then onwards, the Thruxton was a dominating force, race winner and record breaker with years of success spanning the 1960s.
By 1969, the Thruxton had won the Isle of Man TT, with Malcolm Uphill cracking the 100mph production lap for the very first time. And on the road, thanks to its twin-powered performance, it had also become the bike of choice, inspiring a generation of teenage racers – a now-iconic subculture centred around British café racer motorcycles and Rock n’ Roll music – the “Ton Up Boys”.
PRESS RELEASE: A dedicated sports-focused chassis combines with a high specification suspension, race-derived tires, premium Brembo M50 front brake setup and upgraded rider technologies to create a truly exciting, modern ride.
Topping up its incredible equipment, the significantly updated Thruxton 1,200cc high-power parallel twin engine is now more responsive, has more peak power (104 HP @ 7,500rpm) and delivers 83 LB-FT of torque 700rpm lower in the rev range.
The Thruxton RS is 13 pounds lighter, has more character, and is perfect for riders who love the focused sporting purity and performance of a cafe racer.
Enhanced rider-focused technologies introduce a higher level of modern capability that encourages even more rider confidence and creates an unparalleled Thruxton RS ride.
Everything about this incredible motorcycle was honed to enhance the Thruxton’s celebrated reputation and take Triumph’s cafe racing pedigree to the next level. With the RS model, the legend evolves.
It is arguably one of the most exciting models in the 2021 Triumph line-up, oozing charisma, and built on top of decades of Triumph racing history. It’s a British-made café racer with a heritage spirit that has been infused with modern technology.
