After all, Tata has expressed interest in returning, why not start with the Nexon?
So Indian manufacturer Tata, which owns British automotive giants, Jaguar and Land Rover, has a long and storied history in the automotive world and the brand had previously stated its interest in returning to Malaysia in the commercial vehicle segment but nothing came of it. Well, this compact SUV may be the perfect way to reenter the market, it is none other than the Tata Nexon.
This quirky looking yet stylish little SUV may just be the product Tata needs to punch its ticket into the Malaysian commercial vehicle segment and this is true for many reasons, chief among them being the undeniable popularity of affordable compact SUVs and crossovers in Malaysia, as if you’re going to make an entrance, make it big, right?
Moreover, the Tata Nexon starts from just ₹7 79 900 (approximately RM42,1411) which makes this car the perfect model to introduce in the country as if the brand can manage to assemble the car locally (CKD), then the price would be even more attractive. Obviously it won’t be cheap to most but then again, no international cars are here anyway thanks to our outdated tax systems.
However, being priced so low gives the Tata Nexon a huge advantage as it includes many features that even some premium brands don’t include in their cars which essentially means that anyone who bothers to research the specifications of a car and prioritize it over brand name will see that this car is a bargain in every sense of the word.
Among the key features of the Tata Nexon include it having next level safety with the car’s high-strength steel structure which acts as an amazing shock absorber and distributes impact energy from a collision away from the passengers in the car. Of course, the car will include all the basic safety systems too so it will be one of the safer options on the market.
On top of that, the Tata Nexus is also one of the most unique looking SUVs out there and while most other SUVs try to look similar to each other, this round, bubbly little thing does not even bother to look conventional but that is not a bad thing as it looks very futuristic and spacious. Add to that modern technology and you have yourself a segment leader.
These are what I think, the main reasons, the Tata Nexon would be the perfect re-entry vehicle for the brand to introduce to Malaysia but of course, there are many more reasons. What do you guys think? Would you like to buy an SUV like this if it were sold here?
