0Why I Think The 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Is The Best Mustang
See why I think the Ford Mustang Dark Horse is better than a Shelby GT 550
So if you, our readers, go back a few articles, you will notice that I have always had a special affection for American muscle cars and while I still cannot choose just 1 car to ever be my favourite car, one car I always include in my list of favourite cars is the Ford Mustang, and for good reason.
While some may argue the newer generations of the iconic Ford Coyote V8 car is more of a pony car than a muscle car, I still consider the Ford Mustang a proper muscle car and now, I am going to share with you why I think the all-new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is the Mustang to end all Mustangs, so buckle up.
First things first, looks. The all new 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse comes in a unique shade of blue that actually shifts colours depending on the surrounding lighting. Now if you know anything about me, you will know that in my eyes, darker colours are always better and for a car like this, the colour really works.
Moreover, the car does not look all too different from any old Ford Mustang GT which is also a bonus because it can kind of be considered a sleeper car. What’s more, the interior has also been upgraded and now features a connected digital driver display and central infotainment screen much like many other carmakers are doing.
The highlights in terms of aesthetics on the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse are the “Dark Horse” badges, which remind me of the Dodge Challenger Demon’s “Demon” badges and the blue titanium gear shifter on the manual variant of the car. Another noteworthy add-on is the massive rear spoiler which looks downright menacing.
Aside from that, the Shelby tuned GT Ford Mustangs all come with supercharged 5.2 litre V8 engines which if you live in Malaysia, you will know that that 0.2 litres extra displacement makes a lot of difference in terms of road tax, but the Dark Horse comes with a naturally aspirated 5.0 litre, tuned up, so it is still a better option.
How tuned up is the engine on the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse? Well it makes 500hp now, a whole 14hp more than the standard GT model. If you think this does not make a big difference, think again, as the Dark Horse is actually 37 percent lighter than the GT thanks to a bunch of carbon fibre being used on the car.
The most notable use of carbon fibre on the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse has to be the beautiful five-spoke rims that just elevate the look of the car entirely. What makes this even more special is that this is only the third time Ford is offering carbon fibre wheels on a production vehicle after the Ford GT and Shelby GT500.
There are , of course, many more reasons why I think the Dark Horse is the Ford Mustang to end all Mustangs but most importantly, this is going to be one of the last true purebred Mustangs (hahaha, horse joke, get it?) before the Mustang goes electric in a few years, sort of like the Dodge “last call” models.
So there you have it, the reasons why I think the Dark Horse is the Ultimate Ford Mustang. Do you agree? What do you think of the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse?
