Toyota GR Sport Hilux Pickup Arrives At RM159,880 Only

GR Sport Hilux just unveiled by UMW Toyota

The Toyota Hilux is undoubtedly Malaysia’s best-selling pick-up truck. Its continued position as the market leader in its segment has been due to not only the advanced and tough appearance but more importantly, a globally proven record of reliability and durability for over 52 years (since its first production in 1968).

Meet the latest Toyota Hilux the ‘Rogue’. For 2020, Toyota engineers have initiated not only several new design improvements in the interior and on the exterior but added safety features that are included in Toyota passenger vehicles.

This is the first time that the world-class Toyota Safety Sense is integrated in Toyota pickup trucks in order to bring utmost confidence to both drivers and passengers in all journeys.

Priced from RM92,880 to RM146,880 for this 2.8L Rogue, you will need to visit a Toyota showroom to get a closer look and feel of this new premium truck and its passenger car safety features.

GR Sport Hilux Details

With success in the Dakar Rally, it is only befitting that Toyota bestow the GR emblem on the Hilux. The GR Sport Hilux features a new sports suspension system with monotube dampers, tuned to inspire greater driving confidence across all terrain.

It is also fitted with paddle shifters for a sportier drive and perfect for those who want maximum response and control – the first paddle shifter system to be implemented in the Hilux line-up.

Meanwhile, the GR Sport Hilux carries a presence which is distinguished by a new front bumper and blacked out side mirrors; grille frame and over-fenders finished in body colour for a sportier aesthetic; black sports bar; a new shark fin antenna; and the black and red body side and tailgate graphics which pays homage to Toyota GAZOO Racing’s rally cars.

The GR Sport Hilux is also fitted with red brake calipers with the GR logo and newly-designed 18” inch alloy wheels.

The interior meanwhile, is detailed with red stitching throughout the cabin with redesigned front sports seats incorporating suede and leather inserts, GR-badged leather steering wheel with red stitching, the GR theme optitron meter with GR welcome animation, GR push start button, and aluminium sports pedals.

Interestingly, GAZOO Racing’s product offering in Malaysia began with the introduction of the GR Supra way back in 2019, followed up by the global release of the highly-anticipated GR Yaris in 2020.

That same year, UMW Toyota Motor unveiled the Vios GR Sport in Malaysia which pays tribute to GR Vios Challenge racing cars.
