Lamborghini says ‘ciao’ to the V12 with two special one-off models: Auténtica and Invencible.
Lamborghini is paying homage to the legacy of the V12 engine, by creating two unique one-off cars: the Invencible Coupé and the Auténtica Roadster. These cars showcase Lamborghini’s design DNA and emphasize the brand’s commitment to personalization, allowing customers to be involved in the creation process from start to finish.
The V12 engine is an integral part of Lamborghini’s history and has contributed significantly to the brand’s success. As the company moves towards a new era of hybridization, the creation of the Invencible Coupé and Auténtica Roadster serves as a celebration of the naturally aspirated V12 engine.
The two cars were designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile to reflect the company’s iconic design cues and to embody the high-performance character of Lamborghini’s sports cars. They pay tribute to Lamborghini’s past masterpieces such as the Sesto Elemento, the Reventón, and the Veneno.
Both cars share the same carbon fibre monocoque and bodywork from the Aventador, with full carbon bodywork that incorporates design and technologies that have been tested and perfected by Lamborghini in motorsport. The hexagonal motif, a defining aspect of modern Lamborghini design, is evident in the distinctive front and rear light assembly, the air intakes on the bonnet, and the central triple exhaust with Inconel tips.
The interior of both cars is minimalist and emphasizes clean lines, with a digital readout featuring dedicated graphics for each car. The cockpit is framed in carbon fibre, and the hexagonal 3D-printed air vents accentuate the lightweight and sporty feel of the cabin.
The Invencible Coupé is characterized by a dominant shade of red, with contrasting carbon-look elements and red ‘flakes.’ The Auténtica Roadster features bodywork in Grigio Titans with Giallo Auge livery and contrasting Nero Ade leather upholstery.
The Invencible Coupé and Auténtica Roadster are the last cars to be produced by Lamborghini equipped with a V12 engine. The final tribute to the outgoing V12 powertrain delivers 780 CV and 720 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed ISR gearbox, four-wheel drive, and the Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system.
“The V12 engine is one of the pillars of our history and our marque’s success,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and CEO. “As we head towards embracing a new era of hybridization at the heart of our Cor Tauri strategy, this is the Lamborghini way of celebrating the naturally aspirated V12 with two one-off vehicles that perfectly represent our concept of excellence in personalization.”
