The petite Hyundai i10 gets some updates and a new sportier looking N Line trim package.
Hyundai Motor has announced the release of the new i10, which has undergone a significant redesign compared to the original model launched in 2019. This A-segment model now boasts a sportier and bolder design with advanced connectivity features, comfort elements, and technologies typically seen in higher segments. It’s a shame that Hyundai no longer offers the i10 in Malaysia, though back when they did, it did not prove to be very popular here.
Design Upgrade Inside and Out
The new Hyundai i10 features a sportier stance and a bolder feel thanks to its low roof and long wheelbase. It is available in nine exterior colours, including two new ones: Lumen Grey, a bright and light grey colour with a pearl finish, and Meta Blue, with bluish-violet colour reflections and pearl finish, and a black two-tone roof.
The front grille features a new honeycomb mesh design with integrated LED Day Running Lights (DRL), which give the car a more aggressive look. Additionally, the rear LED-combined lights display an ‘H’ on the horizontal tailgate line. The model also features newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the car is outfitted with blue mood lamps in the front seats, and a new Purple Package adds a sense of playfulness to the sporty exterior design. The package offers tartan fabric seats with vertical purple lines, purple touches in the stitching and air vents, and grey touchpoints with a purple sheen in the crash pad and lower central console.
Sporty i10 N Line Variant
Customers looking for a sportier version of the i10 can opt for the i10 N Line variant, which takes design cues from Hyundai’s high-performance N models.
It features bespoke bumpers, inserts, and red touches, and the backs of the seats feature triple red line fabric. The model also comes with new 16-inch alloy wheels.
Seamless Connectivity and Advanced Technologies
The new i10 features seamless connectivity features, making the in-car experience more convenient and technologically advanced. New technologies include a standard 4.2-inch LCD cluster, USB type-C in the front and rear, second-generation eCall based on the 4G network, and Over The Air (OTA) map updates.
The model is also consistent with the 8-inch display screen, Audio Video Navigation (AVN), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, and the latest update to Bluelink® telematics.
Hyundai Smart Sense Safety Features
The new Hyundai i10 also features more Hyundai Smart Sense safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) for ‘City,’ ‘Interurban,’ and ‘Pedestrian,’ which has also been expanded to include ‘Cyclist.’ FCA helps detect and avoid potential accidents with obstacles ahead. Lane Following Assist (LFA) uses steering control to help the car stay in the current lane of travel. Rear Occupant Alert (ROA) reminds the driver with a message in the cluster if the rear door had been opened during the journey to prevent anyone or anything in the rear seat from being left behind.
Practical and Convenient
The new Hyundai i10 remains a practical choice for urban driving, with power folding mirrors, a two-stage luggage board, and one-handed rear seat folding. It offers a boot capacity of 252 litres with the seats up and 1,050 litres with the seats folded, and a rear-view camera.
Production of the new i10 is set to begin in April 2023 at Hyundai’s production plant in Izmit, Türkiye. The first units are expected to arrive on European roads in the second half of the year.
