Now this is what I call flood relief, thank you Allianz
Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad or Allianz General as it is referred to, has just activated its fast flood claims settlement initiative and towing assistance for customers affected by the floods. Finally we see some definitive action being taken to help the victims.
As the current Government scrambles to try and salvage the flood situation, this is a welcome move. Allianz General customers can call 1-800-22-5542 for towing assistance (Car and Motor Comprehensive Cover policyholders) or to speed up claims for home or commercial insurance, if you have them.
Damian Williams, Chief Claims Officer of Allianz General stated, “As part of our fast flood claims initiative, we already have all of our 250 Allianz Road Rangers tow trucks on standby nationwide to facilitate towing services.”
“We are also ready to mobilise our other flood claims assets including our seven Allianz-branded 4x4s, a claims caravan, and a team of nationwide adjusters to accelerate investigations to ensure a swift claims settlement for our customers. When it comes to flood claims, it is all about reaching out to our customers as fast as we can and provide them with quick financial relief.” He added
“On top of that, we are putting our customers first, so we are also offering complimentary towing service for all our Motor Comprehensive policyholders and those without special perils cover and forgoing the need for a police report when filing for a flood damage claim.” He concluded.
Moreover, individual policyholders such as Smart Home Cover, will receive a pay out by Allianz General for a full claim settlement or an interim payment within five days after the site visit from the adjuster. As part of this special initiative, the company is also offering a waiver of Reinstatement Value Clause, Mortgage Clause and underinsurance.
Furthermore, the Allianz General fire insurance policyholders (commercial lines) can expect an interim payment within five days after a visit from the adjuster with a full claim settlement paid between 21 to 28 days after the visit from the adjuster. This essentially means victims will receive aid faster than before.
However, if the company is unable to settle the claim before the 28 days, for whatever reason, then Allianz General will facilitate a second interim payment before the 30th day. This is extremely helpful as it does not leave the victims to fend for themselves for too long without any assistance.
Regardless, I am very happy Allianz General is providing quick help for flood victims and this is a good example the company is setting. Hopefully our new Government can rebuild the country quickly enough and soon offer genuine solutions to stop floods from causing so much devastation altogether.
