CATL and VinFast are now partners to achieve this
Contemporary Amperex Technology Company (CATL) and VinFast Trading & Manufacturing Joint Stock Company (VinFast) announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for a Global Strategic Cooperation to expand collaboration in areas such as (CATL Integrated Intelligent Chassis) CIIC skateboard chassis products.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Robin Zeng, founder and chairman of CATL and Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, chairman of Vingroup and VinFast and according to the agreement, both companies will cooperate on the CIIC skateboard chassis while still cooperating on battery supply with CTP (cell-to-pack) tech on the global market.
Moreover, the CIIC skateboard chassis integrates battery packs, electric motors and other key units into a single layer at the bottom of the vehicle. This lowers vehicle purchasing costs, while also keeping the weight of the vehicle down and minimizes energy consumption while maximizing cabin space for optimal driving pleasure.
On top of that, this partnership between CATL and VinFast will see the CIIC skateboard chassis be improved with the CTP batteries and this opens the door for CATL to cooperate with VinFast in other areas as well which will promote battery innovation and the transition to e-mobility.
Madam Le Thi Thu Thuy, Vingroup Vice Chairwoman and VinFast Global CEO, said, “VinFast connects global intelligence to promote research and production of smart electric vehicles.”
“Collaboration with CATL – a global leader of new energy innovative technologies – is the next development milestone of VinFast in applying advanced technology to enhance driving range and experience while offering competitive pricing, making smart electric vehicles more efficient and accessible to everyone.” She added.
Additionally, by utilizing the cutting-edge batteries provided by CATL, VinFast will be able to improve innovative electric vehicles (EVs) in terms of range, safety and intelligent driving. This partnership will give CATL the chance to expand their global footprint, particularly in emerging markets and promote the use of EV technology.
The innovations resulting from this partnership will allow both companies to promote the innovation of battery technologies and global e-mobility, which will contribute to the global shift towards greener mobility and transition from fossil fuels to energy while simultaneously achieving carbon neutrality goals.
What do you guys think about this? I hope this partnership can exponentially accelerate the adoption of EVs all across the globe and help the whole world enjoy a greener earth sooner rather than later.
