This updated Subaru Impreza is confirmed for the US Market for now.
The Subaru Impreza was first launched in 1993 almost 30 years ago and has captured the hearts of car enthusiasts ever since. Offered as either a coupe, sedan or hatchback, it is the hatchback body style that has proven the most popular over the years and since the car is due for a refresh, it looks like we are getting one now.
Well the Subaru Corporation has now revealed the all new 2024 US model Subaru Impreza at the Los Angeles Auto Show and this car comes with a new look, more advanced in-car technology, better performance and improved safety. It is based on the same Subaru Global Platform that underpinned the 5th generation model. Sadly, it seems like we may never see this car being sold by Subaru in Malaysia.
This all new sixth generation Subaru Impreza is an upgrade in almost every aspect and as such is said to encourage all drivers and passengers to engage in an active lifestyle with its enjoyable high performance and enhanced versatility. It will launch in the US in Spring (around next March) and then in some other markets after that.
Moreover, it has been confirmed that the 2024 Subaru Impreza will be a 5 door hatchback which will be made available in three variants including a new RS variant which will utilize a 2.5 litre Subaru Boxer engine, exclusive 18 inch wheels as well as unique interior and exterior elements to further differentiate it from other variants.
On top of that, the all new 2024 Subaru Impreza does not just look sportier, it also receives the latest generation of Subaru EyeSight Driver Assistance technology complete with features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, pre-collision braking and more.
The all new 2024 Subaru Impreza also benefits from an all-wheel drive system as well as a new Subaru Starlink 11.6 inch Multimedia Plus system which comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. This also includes on-screen controls for audio, climate and vehicle features.
While the RS model of the 2024 Subaru Impreza comes equipped with a 2.5 litre engine, the base model and Sport variants use the tried and tested 2.0 litre Subaru Boxer which makes 152hp and around 197Nm of torque while the 2.5 litre engine makes 182hp and around 241Nm of torque.
Furthermore, despite the different engine displacements and outputs, all variants of the 2024 Subaru Impreza will use a Lineartronic CVT gearbox and the sport and RS variants will have an 8-speed manual mode on the paddle shifters. The car will also receive a version of the Subaru WRX dual-pinion electronic power steering rack.
So what do you guys think of the 2024 Subaru Impreza? Would you like to see this car in Subaru showrooms in the country or do you think the company is going to continue only selling SUVs and crossovers exclusively?
