This week at AutoSens Brussels the annual conference held at the renowned Autoworld Museum in the Belgian Capital, for the second year in a row, that automotive components leader LG Electronics (LG), has been invited to present their insights and share their latest R&D findings and in-vehicle solution.
LG was hailed this year for the brand’s achievement in the “Most Innovative In-Cabin Perception Application and Most Innovative Application or Deployment of Computer Vision Categories,” continuing the success of the brand for being recognized for the Gold award in the “Hardware Development of the Year” category last year.
AutoSens is an international community of academics, engineers, scientists and auto-industry professionals formed in 2015 with the goal of shaping the future of vehicle technology and AutoSens Brussels is one of three major conferences held by AutoSens.
Last year, due to the global pandemic, the conference was held in an online-only format and in that conference LG and Mercedes-Benz jointly presented their successful collaboration in Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) camera technology.
Moreover, returning to an in-person format this year, the conference saw LG introduce it’s latest cabin camera solutions and Dr. Park Young-kyung, a Vision AI expert at LG, spoke about the company’s innovative cameras for vehicles, offering his Insights.
LG is also utilizing advanced AI solutions to cabin cameras that will monitor the cabin of the vehicle which will not only strengthen safety regulations and driver compliance to said regulations but also increase the convenience of all passengers in the vehicle as well. LG has already successfully applied this for both driver and passenger monitoring.
On top of that, Dr. Park also shared a bit about the process used to develop and integrate these monitoring solutions from start to finish and how LG ensures the highest quality by only using the most cutting edge camera and software technology.
Eun Seok-hyun, the president of LG Vehicle component Solutions said, “Continuous R&D is the key to LG’s ongoing success in the rapidly growing AV and ADAS solutions markets.”
“We are honored to have been asked to present at AutoSens again this year and will continue to offer our insight and support to industry bodies and expert communities who share our vision of future mobility.” He added.
What do you think about this? I am personally very excited to see how this in cabin monitoring will affect self driving cars and driving behaviour in said cars in the future.
