It’s times like these that make me appreciate public transport
No, that picture is not photoshopped, an actual tank really did break down in the middle of the road. Only in KL, am I right? This tank was spotted broken down on the exit from Jalan Damansara to KL Sentral.
This has, understandably, caused a massive traffic jam and as you can see in the picture provided, there is a huge pile up of cars and in KL where traffic is already a major issue, this only serves to make things even more unbearable.
Lucky for us, Malaysia has no shortage of public transport options, especially around KL and Selangor. So aside from the buses, which obviously will also be stuck in the same traffic and thus be of no use in this situation, we still have the Light Rail Transit (LRT).
I’m not suggesting that the public transport here is perfect as anyone who shares my struggle of relying on public transport will tell you that it has its own fair share of problems but especially in situations like this, it is infinitely better than crawling on the road with a whole tank making traffic even worse.
On a side note, I do wonder if this is just part of the filing for “Fast and Furious Malaysia: We also got tank lah!” but then of course, since it is a cheap prop and Vin Diesel wasn’t driving it the tank just decided it had enough and broke down.
Jokes aside, I really do think more people should be using public transport more often. It is no exaggeration to say that we here at DSF rely on public transport very often too, in fact, when I was at the launch of the new 2022 Perodua Alza recently, I took the LRT to get to the event.
So let’s all make it a point to lessen the traffic on our roads and use public transport whenever possible since it will not only lessen traffic, but also improve our environment and help Malaysia actualize our dream of becoming a carbon neutral country faster.
This is especially good now as we are inching ever closer to Merdeka so we should all support our nation in every way we can.
