Perodua gives back to Kuching medical frontliners working at the Sarawak General Hospital.
Perodua has a long tradition of supporting communities around Malaysia through the good times and the bad. They have always donated to hospitals such as Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Selayang, Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Hospital Shah Alam, Hospital Kota Kubu Bharu, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Hospital Ampang, Hospital Putrajaya and more. Now that the pandemic phase has more or less stabilised and passed into the endemic stage, the Malaysian car company has decided to support Sarawak General Hospital with a contribution.
Perodua donated seven Vital Sign Monitors to the Kuching-based public hospital and also purchased a bunch of hampers for patients and staff at the paediatric ward of the hospital. The overall contribution amounted to about RM84,450.

Perodua continues its support to public hospitals by contributing medical diagnostic equipment to the Sarawak General Hospital as well as surprising some of its patients and staff with hampers.
This initiative is to support the government’s mission in improving the quality of health services in this country and at the same time thanking its dedicated frontliners.
“We thank the staff of the Sarawak General Hospital for their service to the community, we hope our contribution will further benefit the people of Kuching and Sarawak,” Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer Dato ‘ Zainal Abidin Ahmad said.
Perodua contributed seven (7) Vital Sign Monitors (a diagnostic equipment to monitor body temperature, pulse and respiration rate as well as blood pressure) as well as hampers to patients and staff in the paediatric ward at the hospital.
The overall contribution, which was worth RM84,450, was presented by Dato’ Zainal to the hospital’s administrator, witnessed by doctors and staff.
The handover ceremony was attended by Dato’ Zainal, Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd Chief Operating Officer Encik JH Rozman Jaafar, Sarawak General Hospital Director Dr Ngian Hie Ung and Deputy Director (Medical) Dr Norinawaty Abg. Daud.
“As part of our Corporate Responsibility initiative, we are always looking for opportunities to provide the best assistance to strengthen the country’s health system. As such we are in constant communication with Ministry of Health and other relevant parties to continue our initiatives,” Dato’ Zainal said.
“This is one of our ways to thank the government and Malaysian, especially our customers who have given us their trust and support over the years,” he added.
To date, Perodua has donated medical and health equipment to public hospitals including Hospital Sungai Buloh, Hospital Selayang, Sabah Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Hospital Shah Alam, Hospital Kuala Kubu Bharu, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz, Hospital Ampang, Hospital Putrajaya and several community clinics within Hulu Selangor.
