All-New Mazda MX-30 Malaysian Brochure Leaked

Mazda’s 1st electric vehicle, the MX-30 is coming to Malaysia soon. Here’s what the brochure says.

The Mazda MX-30 was revealed back in 2019 at the Tokyo Motor Show. This electric vehicle is now making its way to Malaysia and we have the leaked brochure with details on the vehicle that we’re getting.

For Malaysia, the Mazda MX-30 will be available in two variants called “EV Mid” and “EV High”. The powertrain for both models includes a 35.5kWh lithium ion battery, a front axle mounted electric motor with 143 hp and 271Nm of torque and a single speed automatic gearbox. Mazda promise about 199km of electric range on a full charge.

The system is designed for up to 6.6kW AC charging which takes 5 hours to go from 0-100% state of charge. On its maximum of 40kW DC fast charging, the Mazda MX-30 takes 36 minutes to go from 0-80% state of charge.

The MX-30 is equipped with ventilate disc brakes at front and solid disc brakes at the rear. The front suspension uses a MacPherson strut style set-up while the rear features a torsion beam. No spare tyre is packaged and instead you get a tyre repair kit in the boot. Other standard features include e-GVC, dual zone air conditioning, a reverse camera, a windshield projection (heads up) display, a 7″ colour multi info display, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an electronic parking brake and advanced keyless entry (walk-away lock and auto door lock) as well as a push start button. Front and rear parking sensors are also standard.

Standard safety systems include 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, BA, DSC, TCS and HLA. Adaptive Front Lighting, High Beam Control, Emergency Stop System, Lane Departure Warning System, Lame-Keep Assist System, Auto Hold, an all-round seatbelt warning system. Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Front Smart City Brake Support, Driver Attention Alert and Mazda Radar Cruise Control is standard with Stop & Go ability but no cruising and traffic support. This is where the differences between Mid and High models begins.

The MX-30 EV High gets Driver Monitoring with Driver Attention Alert, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Front & Rear Smart City Brake Support, and Adaptive LED headlights. This model also gets 12 Bose speakers instead of 8 standard speakers. There’s also a 360-degree camera. 6-way manual adjustable fabric front seats get upgraded to 8-way powered fabric + leatherette seats with 2-way lumbar support and 2 position memory function. There’s also a frameless rear view mirror, a powered sunroof, and LED signature lighting for the headlights. The final distinction between the trim levels is the 18″ wheels, which have a different, ‘Bright’ finish to them.

There will be 5 colour choices, 3 of them are dual tone.

Bermaz will sell the Mazda MX-30 with a 5-year manufacturer warranty and an 8-year/160,000km battery warranty.
