Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition Global Reveal

Just when you thought the Mercedes-AMG GT was milked dry, they reveal yet another version.

The AMG GT has been one of the most successful experiments for the Mercedes-Benz brand. They gave AMG free reign to build a supercar and come up with as many variants as they could sell and the result has been 8 years of non-stop hits to rival any supercar maker. But they’re not done yet. Just this week, Mercedes-AMG revealed the GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition – the most powerful production model to date from them with the most unwieldy name imaginable.

F1 Edition Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE (Kraftstoffverbrauch gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 7,9l/100km; Stromverbrauch gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 12 kWh/100 km; CO2-Emissionen gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 180g/km);Kraftstoffverbrauch gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 7,9l/100km; Stromverbrauch gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 12 kWh/100 km; CO2-Emissionen gewichtet, kombiniert WLTP: 180g/km* F1 Edition Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE (Fuel consumption weighted, combined WLTP: 7,9l/100km; Power consumption weighted, combined WLTP: 12 kWh/100 km; weighted, combined CO2-emissions WLTP: 180g/km g/km);Fuel consumption weighted, combined WLTP: 7,9l/100km; Power consumption weighted, combined WLTP: 12 kWh/100 km; weighted, combined CO2-emissions WLTP: 180g/km g/km*

The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition is a 23,800 euro optional add on to the hybrid GT 63 S E Performance. This package consists of a new paintjob in non-metallic Manufaktur Alpine Grey with a grey-to-black colour gradient and red colour accents and the AMG logo at the car’s flanks. It also comes with 21″ AMG forged wheels in the 5-twin spoke design with a matt black finish and a red rim flange which mirrors the F1 Medical Car‘s scheme.

Other components to this vehicle include the AMG Aerodynamics package which increases the negative lift force while reducing drag. It adds a fixed rear aerofoil in high-gloss black, optimised front and rear aprons, air deflectors on the air intakes and front wheel arches and side air outlets of the rear wings.

Another part of the equation is the AMG Night Package Exterior and AMG Night Package II. These essentially finish parts of the trim in high-gloss black. They’ve also added a trim strip in the rear apron, twin tailpipe trims of the AMG exhaust system in black chrome. There’s also heat-insulating dark tinted glass, a darkened radiator grille and model badges in black chrome. The fuel filler cap features AMG lettering and is finished in silver chrome for contrast.

Inside, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition features AMG Performance seats in nappa leather in black with red stitching. The seat belts are finished in red and AMG carbon fibre trim elements feature red thread. The AMG performance steering is wrapped in nappa leather and dinamica microfibre with red stitching. The AMG lettering in the door sill illuminates in red and there are ‘Edition’ badges on the interior along with AMG floor mats.
