Moto Morini X-Cape 650 Adventure Bike Now In Malaysia

Competition in the adventure segment heats up

MForce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd., the newly appointed distributor of Moto Morini motorcycles in Malaysia, has officially launched the new Moto Morini X-Cape 650 and 650 X to mark the Italian marque’s return to this side of the globe.

According to the company, both the X-Cape 650 and 650 X are available in three colour options, namely Dolomites Red, Monte Blanco White, and Carrara Gray. Pricing starts from RM39,999 for the former and RM43,999 for the latter.

Powering both bikes is a 649 cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with an output of 65 hp at 8,500 rpm and 56 Nm at 7,000 rpm, which is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission. The engine is equipped with a Bosch electronic fuel injection system.

Chassis-wise, the X-Cape 650 and 650 X are equipped with Marzocchi front forks and KYB adjustable rear shocks. The ‘X’ suffix indicates that the 650 X is built for offroading and as such, this version comes standard with wire spoke wheels (as opposed to aluminium alloy ones on the base version), handguards, aluminium engine guard and crash bars.

On top of that, the 650 X has a taller seat height of 835 mm, which translates to a difference of 25 mm from that of the base model. Fuel in both bikes is carried in an 18-litre tank.

Elsewhere, there’s LED headlights, a high-definition 7-inch TFT display with Linux OS, Bluetooth connectivity and a dual USB charging port. Braking system comprises Bosch ABS, as well as dual 298 mm discs up with a Brembo four-piston calliper up front and a 255 mm disc with a dual-piston calliper at the rear.

MForce says the X-Cape 650 and 650 X will be available through its authorised dealerships throughout Malaysia by mid-May. The bikes come with a two-year or 20,000-km manufacturer’s warranty.
