Honda City Hatchback RS e:HEV Price Announced

The Honda City Hatchback RS e:HEV gets its price 2 months after the petrol versions launch.

Honda Malaysia has announced the price of the all-new City Hatchback RS e:HEV flagship hybrid variant. It will be available to Malaysian customers at RM107,783.09. The sedan variant with the same powertrain and trim level is priced at RM105,950.45. It’s worth noting that the City Hatchback comes with Ultra Seats, which are missing on the sedan version.

The current pricing structure for all City and City Hatchback variants are as follows:

  • City 1.5 S – RM74,191.27
  • City 1.5 E – RM81,664.82
  • City 1.5 V – RM86,561.45
  • City 1.5 V Sensing – RM90,212.36
  • City RS e:HEV – RM105,950.45
  • City Hatchback 1.5 S – RM75,669.45
  • City Hatchback 1.5 E – RM83,075.73
  • City Hatchback 1.5 V – RM87,856.36
  • City Hatchback RS e:HEV – RM107,783.09

This 5-door model of the City replaces the Jazz, which was previously offered with Honda’s older hybrid systems, IMA and i-DCD. This time around, it uses the e:HEV hybrid system, previously known as i-MMD. This powertrain features a 1.5L petrol engine that can either regenerate power for the hybrid battery or drive the front wheels at higher speeds. In most situations, an electric motor supplies power to the front wheels while another motor serves as a generator to recover energy. Honda quotes power figures at 109PS and 253Nm of torque, which is incredibly high for the segment.

The RS bodykit comes with Gloss Black trim for the front grille, Solid Wing, and door mirror caps. It also gets an exclusive shape for the lower grill, fog garnish and rear bumper with LED headlights, LED daytime running lights and LED front fog lights. Exclusive two-tone 16″ alloy wheels are also present.

Features that are added to this variant are red-stitched Ultrasuede seats, 7″ digital instrument cluster, 8″ infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, rear air cond vents, ULTRA seats, Remote Engine Start, Honda LaneWatch, an Electric Parking Brake, Auto Brake Hold, as well as Honda Sensing Advanced Driver Assistance system, which includes:

  1. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  2. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  3. Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  4. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
  5. Road Departure Mitigation (RDM)
  6. Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
  7. Auto High Beam (AHB)

The Honda City RS e:HEV also adds Honda CONNECT, which applies smart Telematics technology for better security, safety and connectivity through the smartphone application.

The car is available at all Honda Malaysia authorised dealerships nationwide in three colours – Ignite Red Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Platinum White Pearl.
