It seems that there is a left hand drive Satria GTI running in Germany.
A complement from a Proton Satria GTi owner based in Germany. Yes, all the way in Germany where hot hatches are born and hatched regularly there is a Proton Satria GTI owner and he is a proud hot hatch driver. This is simply amazing.
This is what he had to say to the committed and professional team at Dream Street Restoration.
“Would just like to say how I much I appreciate the work you guys are doing in restoring this national masterpiece of ours.
I own both right- and left-hand drive GTi models and can only dream of one day sending both these cars to your shop for the full treatment.
A few questions come to mind, do you guys reproduce parts for sale or is it a fixed restoration program. As the left-hand drive model I own, it’s here in Germany so I can only go for an all-out treasure hunt for the salvation of parts. Especially the ones made by Lotus. Would love to hear from you guys.
Keep up the fantastic work. You guys are legends in my books. Just live the passion and vision being put into this venture. It’s truly inspiring”.
That is not all.
“Later in the night, we received a call from this gentleman based in Germany. We proudly shared our work and exchange the details on the restoration process and how the customisation is done for each project.
Danial mentioned there are a few more owners of these legacy Satria GTi based in Germany, France and Switzerland.
Danial later shared an experience over the weekend rendezvous expeditions with local cars clubbers, taking their rides along the infamous hill climb of Black Forrest terrains.
The Satria GTi excelled well driving in tricky winding roads in the mountainous region. The locals were astonished with its drivability performance and mistook the Satria GTi for a Pug 206 ?.
They were surprised to see the Lotus emblem on the GTi and gets shocked and disbelief the hearing the collaboration between LOTUS & PROTON in building this prestigious hot hatch in the past!!
He currently daily drives his LHD GTi with a great pride in Germany and another GTi unit with his dad here in Malaysia”.
