Porsche macan Introduces All-New Macan

The all-new Porsche Macan has been introduced to the Malaysian market by Sime Darby Auto Performance – the authorised importer and distributor of Porsche vehicles in the country.

The Porsche Macan has been one of the company’s most successful products of all time. Ever since this baby performance SUV debuted in 2014, it has been flying off the shelves as an easy and practical entry point into the Porsche brand. With a 2nd generation Porsche Macan and Porsche Macan EV in development, the company gave the first generation Macan one last major facelift in the middle of last year. This new Macan comes in three variants – Macan, Macan S and Macan GTS and they’re all available in Malaysia.

The Macan and Macan S come with the Premium Package as standard in Malaysia at RM433,154 and RM623,593 respectively. The Macan GTS comes in at RM786,232 with a 2-year warranty and 2 years free maintenance.

Design Update On The New Porsche Macan

The Porsche Macan now features a more dynamic look with 3D structural elements and dynamic side blades for a sharper look. The new Macan features a redesigned nose with an inlay in the exterior colour to emphasise the car’s width. There’s also a new diffuser out back. LED headlights with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and Sport Design wing mirrors are standard on all variants of the new Macan. Inside, the new Macan features design cues from the latest 911 Carrera model including the use of glass on the centre console and touch-sensitive surfaces instead of tactile buttons. The analogue clock at the top of the dashboard is now standard, as are many online services via the 10.9″ touchscreen. There’s also are also multifunction and GT Sport steering wheels available, taken directly from the new 911.

The Macan features the 2.0L inline 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine. The base model gets 261hp and 400Nm of torque, which is an increase of 13hp and 30Nm compared to the outgoing model. 0-100km/h takes 6.2 seconds. The Macan S packs a 2.9L V6 biturbo petrol engine with 375hp and 519 Nm of torque, also a small increase over the last model. It gets to one hundred from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds.
