The Perodua Myvi is getting an upgrade – the 1st major change since the introduction of the new generation in late 2017.
Perodua has just announced that they have opened the order books for a newly upgraded Myvi with enhanced technology, better fuel economy, a fresh redesign, a new colour and more. The current generation Perodua Myvi was introduced in late 2017 and given a minor update in mid-2020.
New Perodua Myvi Lineup
The refreshed Perodua Myvi will be available in the following trim levels:
- 1.5 AV
- 1.5 H
- 1.5 X
- 1.3 G (high-spec)
- 1.3 G (low-spec)
The “1.5 Premium X” variant is now referred to just as the 1.5 X and for the first time, the Perodua Myvi will not be offered with a manual transmission. However, Perodua says there will still be two variants of the 1.3 G. One of the G variants will not feature advanced driver assist systems, but should otherwise be specced exactly the same as the other.
What’s New On The New Myvi?
Despite dropping the 5-speed manual transmission from the line-up, Perodua has made changes to the engines themselves to improve fuel efficiency. The NEW 2022 Myvi will be able to return 22.2 kilometres for every litre of petrol. This is up from 21.1km per litre previously. Bear in mind, these figures are for the Myvi 1.3 only. It is not certain if the 1.5L engine has been improved in terms of fuel efficiency or not.
Another change comes to all variants of the Myvi except the base model, and that’s Perodua Smart Drive Assist (PSDA). PSDA is an enhanced advanced driver assistance package that first debuted on the Perodua Ativa. This goes beyond the currently available Advanced Safety Assist 2.0.
PSDA includes:
Advanced Safety Assist
- Pre-collision Warning
- Pre-collision Braking
- Front Departure Alert
- Pedal Misoperation Control
Driving Assist
- Lane Departure Warning
- Lane Departure Prevention
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Lane Keep Control
- Blind Spot Monitor
Headlamp Assist
- Auto High Beam
- Adaptive Driving Beam
Parking Assist
- Front & Rear Corner Sensors
- Reverse Camera
- Rear Cross Traffic Alert
A New Colour
The Perodua Myvi AV will also get a new colour option – Cranberry Red. This replaces Lava Red on the top spec model, but that colour is still available on other variants. Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Granite Grey and Electric Blue are also still available. Peppermint Green was dropped previously.
The price range for the new Perodua Myvi is between RM45,700 and RM58,800 (Peninsular Malaysia pricing without insurance). The outgoing Myvi models were priced between RM43,029 (manual variant not included) and RM52,697. This represents a price jump of about 6% – 11.5%.
