Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo Launched In Malaysia From RM645,209!

Sime Darby Auto Performance are wasting no time introducing more electric Porsches to Malaysia. Just in September 2020, they launched the first all-electric Porsche Taycan. Today, they’re introducing the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo in three variants:

The Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is essentially a 5-door wagon variant of the 4-door Taycan. Compared to the Taycan, the Taycan Cross Turismo has 47mm more headroom for rear passengers, and 1200 litres of capacity with the rear seats folded down. It runs on the same 800-volt technology and the 93.5kWh Performance Battery Plus is standard across all variants of the Taycan Cross Turismo.

The only variant that Sime Darby Auto Performance has not launched in Malaysia is the Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. This variant is 0.1 seconds slower than the equivalent 4-door Taycan Turbo S, probably due to the increased ride height, size and additional kit.

Porsche have also fitted adaptive air suspension with 20mm higher ground clearance and all-wheel drive as standard on the Taycan Cross Turismo. With the optional Offroad Design package, ground clearance is 30mm higher for use off-road. The Cross Turismo also gets an exclusive “Gravel” drive mode which manages torque distribution through traction optimised shifting and other chassis settings.

Other off-road design elements include wheel arch trims, front and rear lower aprons and side sills and special flaps at the corners of the bumpers on the Offroad Design package.

What do you think of the price and the variants being offered in Malaysia? Are you excited for possible local production of this model?
