The Lexus ES 250 has been given a facelift in Malaysia with a new F Sport variant.
The latest Lexus ES was launched just two years ago in Malaysia and this week it has been facelifted to keep it competitive in the market. These updates were introduced globally back in April.
The 2021 Lexus ES 250 brings a refreshed exterior design with better comfort features and more safety equipment. What’s more, Lexus Malaysia has also introduced the Lexus ES 250 F Sport variant to the market for the first time.
Lexus ES Refreshed Design
The 2021 Lexus ES features new L-shaped inserts in the front grille, but the overall shape remains the same. Some may prefer the simpler look of the previous design, but this new grille definitely is a little more eye-catching as the vertical bars are broken up into smaller sections. The standard ES 250 Premium comes with a new headlamp housing with Bi-LED projectors with a new inner bezel shape as well as a new rim design with a Dark Grey Metallic Finish. The ES 250 Luxury and ES 250 F Sport come with ultra compact 3-beam LED projector headlamps and new daytime running lights.
On the F Sport variant, the front grille is also vastly different. It has a pretty unique mesh pattern that looks like it forms little diamond patterns. Besides that the ES 250 F Sport also comes with other exterior fittings, including a rear spoiler, a set of 19″ wheels with a Dark Premium Metallic finish.
Colour choices for the 2022 Lexus ES 250 Premium and Lexus ES 250 Luxury include:
- Sonic Iridium (new)
- Sonic Chrome (new)

- Sonic Titanium
- Graphite Black Glass Flake
- Red Mica Crystal Shine
- Ice Ecru Mica Metallic

The Lexus ES 250 F Sport Comes in:
- Heat Blue Contrast Layering

- Sonic Iridium
- Sonic Titanium
- Graphite Black Glass Flake

New ES Interiors
What’s really interesting on the new ES is the 12.3″ infontainment display. It’s now touch-enabled for the first time and positioned 112mm closer to the occupants and has a driver-oriented incline of 5 degrees. The ES 250 Premium’s headunit is only 8″ across. The ES 250 also comes with USB Type-C ports and a Nanoe-X negative ion generator as standard.
For the Lexus ES 250 Premium and ES 250 Luxury, there are two interior finishes available – Black upholstery with Walnut Black trim or Hazel upholstery with Walnut Brown trim. The ES 250 Luxury specification also can be ordered with Mauve upholstery with Walnut Black trim. The Lexus ES 250 F Sport is available with two interior choices: Black upholstery with Aluminium trim or Flare Red upholstery with Aluminium trim.
The F Sport’s interior features a light-emitting analogue clock on the dashboard with L-shaped graphics, a 3-spoke F Sport steering wheel, and an instrument cluster with an electrically movable metal ring first presented on the LFA. This trim level also gives you dimple leather-trimmed shift knob and sporty aluminium pedals.
Safety & Security
All variants of the ES 250 now feature an inclination sensor that detects when the vehicle is being towed while locked to sound a siren.
The Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) has been enhanced to feature daytime bicyclist detection and improve pedestrian detection in low light situations. Adaptive High-beam System (AHS) now features BladeScan technology, which uses an LED-sourced light that shines onto blade mirrors spinning at high speed to illuminate the road ahead. This system is more capable of intelligently shielding off light than conventional Adaptive High Beam Systems.
Also new is the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS), which guides the main beams in the direction of the corner the vehicle is being driven in. Standard on all variants is Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Parking Support Brake.
