The company is venturing into new businesses going forward
KMSB Motors Sdn. Bhd. (formerly known as Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.) has officially announced that it will cease its Kawasaki motorcycles distribution business effective 1 October 2021.
In a statement issued on Thursday (30 September 2020), the company said the decision was made by its Board of Directors and Management after taking into account several key developments in the investment policy of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. Japan (KHI) in Malaysia.
To put it another way, KMSB decided to part ways with KHI after 33 years of partnership following the brand principal’s decision to raise its stake in national motorcycle manufacturer Modenas back in April 2019. Going forward, KMSB said it will embark into new businesses.
In the meantime, existing Kawasaki owners will have to wait for further announcement from KHI on matters pertaining to warranty claim, after sales service and spare parts.
