Modern technology meets classic Italian charm
Didi Resources has officially launched the new Vespa Sprint S 150 with TFT Dashboard, which, as the name suggests, sets itself apart from the regular Sprint S 150 with the addition of a digital display. Malaysia is the third country in the world to receive this particular model after Japan and Thailand.
The TFT screen is very similar to the one on the GTS 300 HPE Super Tech, in the sense that it has the Vespa Mia connectivity system that allows riders to connect their Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth. This will enable riders to manage navigation, calls, messages and music, with the control being done via a joystick on the left-hand control block.
Riders can also gain access to vehicle status, riding parameters and travel statistics on the their phones through the dedicated Vespa app, which is available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
What’s more, the Sprint S 150 with TFT Dashboard comes with some unique styling features. These include Bronzo Antico and Nero Opaco colour options with bronze wheels for the former and matte black wheels for the latter, diamond quilting on the saddle as well as contrasting body stickers.
There are no mechanical changes with this new model, which means it is still powered by a 155 cc, single-cylinder i-Get engine that makes 12.7 hp at 7,750 rpm and 12.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The suspension system comprises a single-arm hydraulic shock absorber at the front and four-position preload-adjustable shocks at the rear.
The front brake utilises a hydraulic steel rotor measuring 200 mm, while the rear brake is a 140-mm drum. A single-channel ABS is equipped as standard, so are front and rear LED headlights.
Available at all authorised Vespa dealerships nationwide, the Sprint S 150 with TFT Dashboard is priced at RM19,900 and comes with a two-year/20,000-km warranty.
