Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launch the facelifted AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ sedan.
The new Mercedes-AMG E63 S 4MATIC+ sedan is now available in Malaysia, with a price of RM1,118,888. The E63 S 4MATIC+ is a facelift based on the W213 E-Class base sedan, which was recently launched in Malaysia as well.
“The new Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4MATIC+ is the latest addition to the Mercedes-Benz Dream Cars collection. Not only has the vehicle become more powerful, comfortable and intelligent, it will also provide our customers with a new level of driving experience. Together in our pursuit of the maximum Driving Performance, this new vehicle is a guaranteed head-turner,” says Michael Jopp, VP of Marketing and Sales at Mercedes-Benz Malaysia.
Powering the new E63 S is a 4.0L Biturbo V8 engine, which is carried forward from the previous model. It still produces 612hp and 850Nm of torque between 2500rpm and 4500rpm. The car has a 0-100km/h time of 3.4 seconds. Cylinder deactivation technology allows for lower fuel consumption and better emissions when driven under low load situations below 3250rpm. Switching between four or eight cylinders is automatic, imperceivable and quick.
The engine sits on dynamic engine mounts to quickly adapt to driving conditions and deliver maximum comfort and rigidity. Once again this engine is paired to the venerable AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9-speed transmission.
AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive allows for torque distribution on front and rear axles, now fully variable for the first time. It also enables Drift Mode when in the RACE drive program with the ESP deactivated. This sends all torque to the rear wheels. An electronically regulated rear axle-locking differential reduces slip on the inside wheel when cornering.
The real reason to look at this new E63 would be the way it looks. Building on the advanced looking facelift E-Class, you get redesigned LED headlamps, a new AMG grille with vertical bars, horizontally-oriented LED tail lamps, flared side sills, twin power domes, a rear apron with a functional diffuser amongst other new design additions.
The reshaped rear apron is finished in high-gloss black with a trim strip in Silver Shadow high-gloss black as the vehicle is specced with the AMG Night Package. This also swaps in high-gloss black trim elements on the exterior mirror housings, window frames, trim inserts, radiator grille and tailpipe trims.
The AMG Exterior Carbon Fibre package comprises of a front splitter and a couple of trim pieces done up in carbon fibre.
A set of 20″ 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels come with the new E63 S, and body colours include:
- polar white
- obsidian black metallic
- graphite grey metallic
- mojave silver metallic
- nautic blue metallic

Inside, AMG seats are wrapped in nappa leather in black and titanium grey pearl with contrast topstitching. Trim for the dashboard and beltlines and seat belts are finished in crystal grey.
The new AMG Performance steering wheel has a distinctive twin-spoke design and is wrapped in both leather and DYNAMICA microfibre. The wheel has a sensor mat that detects when hands are on it for a safer drive. Electromechanical speed-sensitive power steering has variable ratios with steering servo assistance reducing at high speeds. The steering assistance assigns to the various stages of the AMG DYNAMICS system. Comfortable steering tuning is set in “Basic”. In “Advanced” and “Master/Pro”, with the new buttons seamlessly integrated into the surfaces of the horizontal twin spokes.
Another highlight of the interior is the enhanced MBUX system. It now understands nearly all sentences relating to its functionality. It can now read out weather forecasts in almost any language. AMG-speciific displays can also be addressed and called up.
