The all new Ford Ranger will probably land in Australia before ASEAN.
Ford Australia has just shared and published the first official teaser video of the new 2023 Ford Ranger pickup truck being ‘tested to the extreme’ in a variety of terrains and weather conditions.
It must be noted that this video was produced in Australia, which is a right hand drive nation (like ASEAN) and the pickup truck in the video being tested is a left-hand drive Ranger that would be bound for American or European countries.
The heavily camouflaged Ranger hides it distinct new features but not its large and muscular silhouette. There is a good chance that this new Ranger will share many design similarities to the current best selling Ford Maverick which is a North American model for now.
The 2023 Ranger Interior might be very different from the current model which has been on sale for 5 years and has even been a best seller in Europe. There is a good chance that the cabin features seen and admired in the Ford Bronco and Maverick might be coming to this latest Ranger.
We are quite sure Ford cabin planners will include cabin features from the new Ford Bronco like a SYNC® 3 system with an 8-inch touch screen and compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. Also, the zippered seatback pockets for additional stowage and even the built-in bottle opener in the cargo area.
With the whole eco-friendly powertrains being a hot topic now and in the future, the new diesel engine will still be used. However, we suspect there might be a new engine variant coming, which is the Ford 2.5L Duratec hybrid with an e-CVT that was introduced in the Maverick and was already used in the Ford Kuga Plug-in hybrid.
There might also be a plug-in hybrid version coming which will combine a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with a single electric motor churning out a combined 362 horsepower and a massive 680 Newton-meters of torque giving it a class best power delivery.
The current Ford Ranger Wildtrak pickup truck interior comes with leather upholstery and a whole host of SUV like features. Under the hood there is a twin-turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine. It can produce 213hp and 500Nm of torque which is channeled to all 4 wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Ford Ranger XLT Plus features the 2.0L Single-Turbo engine that delivers 180PS of power and 420Nm of torque. Equipped with convenient features such as keyless entry with push-start-button and the Easy Lift Tailgate, it is ideally suited for work and outdoor adventures.
