Geely sales pushed up by Malaysian Proton increased demand.
Geely has just shared its total sales figure for the ‘slow’ month of July and it almost reached 100,000 units. This impressive sales figure includes the success of the electrified division and also its joint venture with Malaysian national car brand Proton.
Meanwhile, if the pandemic was in control in Malaysia and lockdown was not in force, Geely could have easily posted a higher July sales figure as there are almost 50,000 pending orders for the rebadged Geely vehicles in Malaysia, the Proton X70 and their latest best seller, the Proton X50 Crossover.
It looks like Geely will need to push its suppliers in China and also Malaysia to get those back orders moving once the Malaysian factory lockdown has been lifted and showrooms can start delivering the X70 and X50 to long waiting customers.
