Bell & Ross Race Driver Ocon takes his first F1 win in Hungary with Alpine
Renaults owned Alpine F1 team secured its first win in Formula 1 at the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix 2021 at the Hungaroring racetrack in Mogyorod, Hungary.
Yes, totally unexpected and what an astonishing race that ended with Alpine’s Frenchman Esteban Ocon becoming an F1 race winner with Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel in second place initially but disqualified later for fuel rules breachand Lewis Hamilton into second and lets not forget after going from first to last to podium, Max Verstappen loses his title lead in the ninth after Bottas triggered the start chaos.
The 24- year old Esteban Ocon led the race from Hamilton’s first stop and he and Vettel were able to make a break at the front, building a 15-second lead, as the rest of the field were held up by Williams’ Nicholas Latifi in third place for the first 22 laps.
Fernando Alonso finished in fourth after some valiant battles of his own meaning the team heads into the summer break in fifth position in the Constructors’ Championship.
“It’s unbelievable and it definitely has not sunk in yet. What a moment, allez les bleus! It was crazy race from the very start to the end,” said Ocon.
Congratulations to the Alpine F1 team as it was the team’s first race victory under the guise of Alpine and the first win since Kimi Raikkonen won the 2013 Australian Grand Prix, when they were known as Lotus.
Since it was founded in 1994, the watchmaker Bell & Ross has been ever-present on the runways. Inspired by the aeronautical industry, its instrument watches are designed with fighter pilots in mind.
The pioneering watchmaker has thus also become a vital player at Formula 1 circuits. Since 2016, Bell & Ross has been associated with the Renault F1 Team. To celebrate the arrival of the Alpine brand at this year’s Grand Prix races, the team has been renamed Alpine F1 Team. And Bell & Ross has become its official timekeeping partner.
To celebrate this continued partnership, the Franco-Swiss company has launched an Alpine F1 Team watch collection, inspired by the world of Formula 1. This sixth family of exceptional timepieces includes three ultra-sporty chronographs.
These exceptional watches will be worn throughout the 2021 season by the staff of the Alpine F1 Team.
