Handsome looking revised Tiguan should be another favorite.
The current Volkswagen Tiguan on sale in Malaysia, the ‘Allspace’ with three rows of seating was launched on August 12th 2020 while a global facelift model together with an ‘R’ variant was shown earlier on the 2nd of July 2020, which is yet to be introduced to Malaysia.
Priced from RM165k, this family SUV competes head on with the Mazda CX-8 which is priced from RM180k and the Peugeot 5008 which is priced from RM166k.
All the above mentioned SUV’s are locally assembled and feature family friendly features and segment best safety equipment.
Now comes news from the Volkswagen Group that there is a revised Tiguan reaching European and North American showrooms this month, which means the current model on sale in Malaysia might be out-classed in the coming months. This latest Tiguan is tagged as a 2022 model and from the details provided it seems that it is more of a facelift and nothing more.
Current VW Tiguan owners in Malaysia should not worry to much about losing value on their less than one-year-old SUV’s as at a quick glance the revised looks on this 2022 model a little noticed and the local Volkswagen office will not be rushing to launch this version for at least another year or more.
Press Release: On the outside, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan keeps its iconic look, but sharpens it with a completely revised front end. The distinctive side profile of the Tiguan remains with its strong character line carrying from the front fender through to the standard LED taillights. Newly centered Tiguan lettering on the rear matches Volkswagen family styling from the Arteon sportback.
The 2022 Tiguan will be available in eight exterior colors-including new Oryx White and Kings Red Metallic.
Inside, the Volkswagen Tiguan boasts updated technology throughout its cabin. The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit instrument cluster now comes standard with an 8-inch display.
Comfort and convenience features get an upgrade as well. R-Line models get a leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch islands and sliders. Additional available features include leatherette or leather seating surfaces, power driver and passenger seats, panoramic sunroof, Fender Premium Audio, and 15-color ambient lighting.
