The Maserati Ghibli Hybrid gets treated by Chinese streetwear brand “CANOTWAIT_”.
Every once in a while, premium brands will collaborate with fashion brands to create exclusive one-offs or limited edition models for specific markets. For Maserati, that brand is “CANOTWAIT_” and that market is China. The car – the relatively new Ghibli Hybrid.
CANOTWAIT_ is a Chinese streetwear fashion brand. Their take on the Ghibli Hybrid is called the Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious. Apparently, the reveal date (20th May) stands for “I Love You” in Chinese (“520”).
The Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious gets 20″ Teseo wheels in Dark Miron, some customised badges from CANOTWAIT_ and Digital Aurora purple exterior paint finish.
Only 8 units of the car will be available in China.

Maserati breaks boundaries and drives the Brand forward to the extreme customization of cars: the new Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is announced in partnership with the Chinese streetwear fashion brand CANOTWAIT_. CANOTWAIT_, the fashion brand founded by well-known actor, singer and trend-setter, William Chan, has seen burgeoning popularity in recent years among young customers as well as the streetwear industry.
This special Ghibli Hybrid was born within the Maserati Fuoriserie customization programme and it embodies the ability to personalize a Maserati tailor-made to the client’s unique personality. “Break the rules” is a call to action, which combines the attitude of trendsetters, mould breakers and style-makers with bold new brand voice. Maserati Fuoriserie programme aims to be the blank sheet of paper on which customers can write their own stories, the means of setting free their creativity, and Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is an evident example.
The date chosen for the announcement is not accidental. 520 [20th May] is a set of Chinese love numbers, which hold the hidden meaning of “I love you”, and on this day it is custom to celebrate love. Therefore, as an ode to this special day, Italian audacious performance meets Chinese love inspired style.
In terms of appearance, Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is characterised by a new special exterior coat colour: Digital Aurora.
Digital Aurora is a unique emotional colour born from the common concept of CANOTWAIT_ and MASERATI, and their desire to love audacious. Love and Audacious got the inspiration in the sunrise and magical Aurora light – a blend of burned decisive purple with calming and relaxing bluish hints. To make even bolder this tree-layers coating it’s been introduced an experimental pink glass flakes pigment that creates a digital effect riding the current Phigital trend.
Starting from an idea and colours palette, CANOTWAIT_ and Maserati brought to life the exclusive exterior paint, specifically for this “few off” edition, inspiring by the contemporary trend of the Unica collection.
The colour purple is a prominent feature of this Fuoriserie Edition. This particular shade was selected not only for the colours longstanding association with the idea of luxury and exclusivity, but also to add a feather-light touch of mystery and rarity. One can hardly find a better way of representing the extraordinary union between a young and daring streetwear fashion brand and the audacious spirit of Maserati. Fun fact: purple is one of William Chan’s favourite colours.
To complete the exterior look, Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious is fitted with Teseo 20″ Wheels in Dark Miron, which are also available in the Maserati Fuoriserie catalogue. Finally, the unique car wears two customised badges from CANOTWAIT_, one on the exterior side of the car, just above the symbolic Maserati air vents, and the other internally, to emphasize even more exclusivity.
One of the campaign’s most unique aspects is the launch of a pop-up store in Shanghai on May 20th (520), where young customers and streetwear fashion influencers can experience the journey of this new car, starting from its conception and inspiration to its final production. Sales of the new Ghibli Hybrid Love Audacious starts with a limited number of 8 units in May (for the Chinese market only).
