Malaysia’s very own ‘Prince of Drift’, Tengku Djan Ley, has been appointed as the new brand ambassador for Toyo Tires.
According to the company, the partnership with Tengku Djan is crucial as it looks to strengthen its presence and visibility in Malaysia, which is regarded as one of the most prominent markets in Southeast Asia. As such, the drifter will play an important role in Toyo Tires’ marketing activities.
The appointment of Tengku Djan should come as no surprise as he is a very well-known figure in the local motorsport and motoring scenes, having been in the thick of it for several decades with successes in both local and international events such as the Sepang 1000 KM Race, the D1 Grand Prix “All Star” World Championship, Formula Drift Asia and the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival, of which Toyo Tires is the Gold sponsor.
Tengku Djan is a perfect fit for Toyo Tires, which prides itself on being a global brand that offers performance, durability and safety for its users. With him on board as a brand ambassador, the company expects to attract a new segment of users.
“His motorsport success and his technical knowledge definitely complement the Toyo Tires spirit and outlook, and we look forward to having a fruitful partnership in the months to come,” said Masaomi Kono, Vice President of Toyo Tires Sales & Marketing Malaysia.
Commenting on his appointment, Tengku Djan said, “I am familiar with the company’s capability in creating tyres that perform well on the track, which also translates to the tyres the company produces for consumers on the road.
I am certainly eager to work closely with Toyo Tires throughout the year, not just during racing season, but off it as well, since I think the motoring public should learn more about the company’s product offerings that cover almost every motoring needs.”
Toyo Tires will be providing Tengku Djan with full support throughout his 2021 racing season, which includes the Toyota Gazoo Racing Festival’s Toyota Vios Challenge and GT World Challenge Asia.
Additionally, the company will also collaborate with Djan on several projects which will be exclusively features on its social media channels.
