The ADV 150 proves that adventure comes in all sizes
The wait is over for Honda ADV 150 fans in Malaysia as the model has just been launched by Boon Siew Honda. Much like the X-ADV, the ADV 150 is an adventure-style scooter, although this version is honed more for the urban jungle rather than the great outdoors.
Powering the ADV 150 is a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled 150 cc SOHC engine that makes 14.6 hp at 8,500 rpm and 13.9 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm thanks to the PGM-FI fuel injection technology. A V-matic transmission transfers the power the rear wheel and an 8-litre fuel tank provides ample fuel to the engine.
As for rolling stock, the scooter comes with mixed-size tyres measuring 14 inches at the front and 13 inches at the rear, with Showa front telescopic forks and rear twin shock absorbers. Meanwhile, the braking system consists of a 240-mm front and a 220-mm rear disc.
In terms of dimensions, the ADV 150 measures 1,950 mm in length, 763 mm in width and 1,153 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1,324 mm. It boasts a ground clearance of 165 mm, while the seat is positioned 765 mm from the ground. Kerb weight is 133 kg.
Standard equipment include LED headlights, daytime running lights, LCD instrument panel and an adjustable windshield with two levels of height adjustment. There is also 27.8-litre underseat storage area and a power socket in the front console box for rider’s convenience.
Safety-wise, the ADV 150 gets a front-wheel ABS, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), as well as Honda’s Smart Key system for added security. An Idling Stop System (ISS) is also included to enhance fuel economy.
Boon Siew Honda‘s latest offering comes in two colours, namely Vivacity Red and Matte Charcoal Grey Metallic. It is available at all Honda dealerships across the nation starting today, with a price of RM11,999 (excluding road tax, registration and insurance).
