Seremban Fire and Rescue Station operation commander Hamlan Ishak said that the crash left three injured, two of whom were travelling in the lorry and the driver of the X70. Meanwhile, another occupant of the lorry and a female occupant of the SUV escaped unhurt.

Hamlan added that the fire department were alerted to the two-vehicle crash at about 12.06 pm and arrived at the scene of the incident nine minutes later.

“Upon arrival at the location we tried to put out the fire while the five victims involved were rescued by the public,” he said.

Early investigation revealed that the collision between the two vehicles may have caused the X70 fuel tank to leak. Foam was used to help extinguish the fire.

A total of 13 firefighters from the Seremban Fire and Rescue Station were involved in the extinguishing operation using a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and a water tanker.
